Mamagalie Lodges are situated in a malaria free area with a subtropical climate. Bring clothing appropriate to the time of year, an insect repellent and sprays are  recommended. Should you plan on hiking, ensure you bring a rucksack, water bottles and sun cream, along with the appropriate footwear. The hiking trails are rocky and comfortable footwear is essential. Mountain biking is allowed but bear in mind that the trails are tough, we can by prior arrangement get permission to cycle on the neighbor's farm. We do not allow the use of our towels at the pool areas and request that you bring your own for this.  All bed linen is supplied, electric blankets or hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided in case of cold weather with additional available on request, basic toiletries are provided; please bring any personal toiletries you may require. A hair drier is provided in the main bedroom of the Mountain, River and Tranquility Lodges. The Bush Lodge and Forest Lodge operate on solar electricity which do not provide sufficient power for hairdryers etc, the stoves in Bush and Forest Lodges are 4 plate gas with oven. The Mountain, River, Serenity and Tranquility Lodges operate on Eskom power and have electric ovens, microwave, large fridge/freezer and kettle, a back up generator is installed for any sustained power outages. Sufficient cutlery and crockery is provided for normal cooking and dining use, including poetjie pots. All units have a private braai area, we are normally able to supply wood and firelighters by prior arrangement but if in doubt please bring your own. The Mountain Lodge has it's own swimming pool while the River, Bush, Serenity and Tranquility Lodges have private plunge pools.

Remember to bring enough food and drink suitable for the duration of your stay, if you forget anything there are 2 large grocery stores within a 20 minute drive of the farm, however it is advisable to stock up prior to arrival. All units have a fridge/freezer to store fresh or frozen produce. The Mountain Lodge has an additional double door fridge/freezer for bigger groups. Gaslights or LED lamps are provided in the event of power failures, but you may find your own torch handy in such circumstances. A small library is in place, in it are books on the fauna and flora relating to the area, as well as a number of novels and magazines for the less intrepid. There are also a variety of board games for both adults and children.

All units are equipped with a safe large enough to carry a laptop, guests should use these to store any valuables. Guests are requested to be responsible with valuables and store them securely. We are proactive with security and most units are fenced with electric fencing and all units with alarms, guests are requested to assist us in staying crime free by using the systems installed.

**Please note, we are in a game reserve and no music systems are permitted, excessive noise that impacts other guests is not allowed. Ours is a walking farm and game drives are not permitted. Contact us should you be uncertain on what else to bring.
