Serenity Lodge is the latest addition to our group of exclusive lodges. Originally starting life as a farm managers cottage it has been expanded and modernised to make it a very comfortable get away. With stunning views over the pasture lands and Buffelspoort Valley and Magaliesburg mountains it is peaceful and private. The resident herd of Blesbok and Impala as well as grey duiker and warthog are seen daily from the veranda.
A spacious bedroom with queen size bed (with fitted electric blanket in winter) and large glass sliding doors takes in the same vista. The lounge has 2 luxurious armchairs and breakfast nook, winter warmed with a wood burning Dover fireplace, while the open plan fitted kitchen has a 4 plate stove/oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. Quality untensils are supplied to ensure that your self catering needs are accommodated. The solar geyser has an abundant supply of hot water and an electrical back up is available, although rarely needed. A large glass enclosed veranda houses an outside shower and large double spa bath, both with the same stunning views and privacy. A soak in the spa bath with multiple settings while sipping your favourite drink at sundown is a magical experience. A private braai and plunge pool off the deck finish off the traditional South African outdoor experience.
As with all our lodges, visitors to Serenity Lodge have full access to the hiking trails around the farm. The rock pools are a 5 km walk but well worth a picnic hike. Guests may see the game which includes Blesbok, Gemsbok, Red Hartebees, Impala, Kudu, Wildebees, Waterbuck and Zebra as well as other resident fauna. The birdlife through the kloof is prolific. A farm reservoir behind the lodge can be used as a swimming pool and is shielded from view by a large Karee tree. Load shedding is not a problem with a generator installed in case of long power outages.
